The Journal's NE Buisness feature 5th October 2007 highlights HaveToLove for its nomination for the Best New Business Award with The Drapers Record.
North Boutique placed in top UK line up
A fashion designer who opened her own boutique a year ago this week has been nominated for a national award by one of the most respectable magazines in the industry.
Kate Walton, who owns high-end fashion store HaveToLove in Gosforth, Newcastle, has had her company nominated in the best new business category at the annual Drapers Awards, which are held in London next month.
The 26 year old, who opened the store in October last year, said she enjoyed a positive first year in business and expected to open a second branch of the store "somewhere within the north" in the next two years.
She said "I think we've been recognised because we are fresh, very different and distinctive in the market. We sell high end designer products and source things from all over the world by visiting fashion shows Paris, New York, Milan and London.
"Its been a really good year for us and we've built up a good client base."
HaveToLove witll come up against five other businesses from across the country at the Drapers Awards which will held at London's Grosvener House Hotel on November 21. Prior to launching her buisness Ms Walton made a name for herself in the fashion industry by launching her own brand of designer handbags.
