Met Gala 2017 - Havetolove Blog

Its one of the New York’s biggest social and fashion events of the year and we are loving this year’s fashion looks! This year’s met galas theme was Rei kawakubo/ comme des garçons in honour of 74 year old Japanese fashion designer Rei kawakubo. Celebrity, designers and models put on their best frock and dominate the red carpet in a bid to out do one another. There was a few mainstream trends on the red carpet which really took our fancy.

Fabulous feathers

Julianne Moore and Blake lively ruffled some feathers on the red carpet! Julianne in Calvin Klein by appointment rocked the feather look bringing a pop of colour and texture to the carpet, we love it!  Blake looked striking in a plunging gold gown featuring electric blue feathers. This ensemble was by atelier versace.

One shoulder wonder

The classic one shoulder dress was worn by Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon, whom oozed class and elegance.

50s style

Lilly Collins and Zoe Kravitz stepped into the 50s as they wore gorgeous pink 50s styled dresses. Pink to make the boys wink!

If there’s one celebrity who goes against the rule of 'less is more' it’s Rihanna! Never failing to make a fashion statement Rhianna dominated the red carpet wearing a comme des garçons ensemble.

However Models, Kendall Jenner and Gigi hadid shared the spotlight with rihanna as they also slayed the red carpet. Kendall and Gigi never disappoint. Whilst Kendall sparkled in a embellished la Perla Couture gown, Gigi took a simpler approach wearing a structure yet elegant Tommy Hilfiger dress. These girls dressed to impress!

The met gala always exceeds expectations presenting some of the best fashion looks and we are left amazed by our favourite looks!
